Director of Design and Research and Development(Arusha)

• Lead the creative development of all new projects from concept to presentation.
• Oversee and mentor the Interior Designer and Architect ensuring design consistency and quality.
• Set and maintain aesthetic standards, material palettes, and design narratives for the company.
• Review and approve mood boards, 3D visuals, technical drawings, and furniture lists.
• Ensure alignment of creative output with client briefs, budgets, and timelines.

• Engage in early-stage planning meetings with clients and internal teams to shape the design strategy.
• Translate site-specific requirements into creative design solutions.
• Ensure design documentation and instructions are complete and feasible for handoff to production.
• Collaborate with the Operations Manager during handoff and execution phases.

• Provide ongoing coaching, creative feedback, and performance support to team members.
• Conduct design team reviews and critiques to maintain high standards.
• Support team growth through training, exposure to trends, and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

• Identify opportunities for new furniture collections, materials, and applications.
• Coordinate pilot development of new product prototypes with the workshop.
• Work with the Managing Director and Marketing team to position and launch new products.
• Stay updated on global design trends, materials innovation, and sustainability practices.

• Master's degree in Interior Architecture, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or related field.
• Minimum 5-7 years of experience in high-level design roles, including team leadership.
• Proven experience in the hospitality and high-end residential sector.
